Izzet Tempo

Izzet Tempo is a classic tempo strategy that aims to ride a 1-drop to victory, backed by powerful disruption (Strip Mine, Daze, and Force of Will). Its primary threats consist of Dragon's Rage Channeler, Hydroponics Architect, and occasionally Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer. The archetype was relatively underexplored before the addition of FoW and Daze but has surged in popularity since. It is the best deck at fueling Treasure Cruise and dominating low-resource games, relying on efficient 1-drops, "free" countermagic, and unmatched card selection (DRC, Ponder, Brainstorm). Additionally, it can go wide or grind out games against bigger midrange decks thanks to Cori-Steel Cutter. The deck's weaknesses are large creatures (Psychic Frog, Barrowgoyf), anti-disruption tools (Vexing Bauble, Petrified Hamlet), and anti-card draw (Orcish Bowmasters)
